TSC meeting cancelled for today, December 18th

Karl W. Schulz

Hello TSC meeting attendees,

As we are nearing the holidays, I am cancelling the TSC meeting for this week. I hope everyone has a good holiday break and look forward to resuming in 2020.

A couple of quick updates from me:

  • It turns out that the version of OBS we have been using is incompatible with the application streams introduced with RHEL8/CentOS8 (https://docs.centos.org/en-US/8-docs/managing-userspace-components/assembly_using-appstream/#application-streams_using-appstream).  Recent changes in OBS have been introduced to enable support and these are live on SUSE public build infrastructure at build.opensuse.org.    The changes are also available in a pre-release version of OBS (https://openbuildservice.org/2019/12/05/osc-build-improvements/).  Since we have discussed separating our build server and repository distribution server for ohpc 2.0, I am taking this opportunity to stand up a newer version of OBS using the 2.11 alpha which supports app streams. A new DNS entry has been registered for this at obs.openhpc.community and we will switch to this for 2.0 build work.  An initial install of this server is working, but I need to finalize a few things disk space wise prior to enabling more builds.
  • We have received an initial drop of the ohpc-ified packaging for the ARM HPC compiler earlier this week. I will be importing this packages into the new OBS instance.
  • I will be trying to catch up on some open pull requests this week.

Cheers,

-k
